HIC, HISA's annual eHealth conference is over for another year. With one of the largest attendances ever, delegates experienced outstanding keynotes, some exceptional presented papers and an industry expo that had a buzz of excitement.

e-Health Issues Forum
HISA is closely associated with eHealth strategy planning in Australia with representation at the major planning and strategy development forums.

CeH Website
The Coalition for eHealth (CeH) now has its own website at http://www.ceh.net.au/. Visit the website the see an overview of the CeH, the consensus statement and the expanding CeH membership list. In the future this site will be used to communicate the key activities of the Coalition.
IMIA Representation
The International Medical Informatics Association (IMIA), plays a major global role in the application of information science and technology in the fields of healthcare and research in medical, health and bio informatics.
IMIA represents the informatics organisations in over 53 countries. IMIA promotes research and international cooperation, dissemination of knowledge, the practical application of informatics and represents health informatics within international health organisations.

Report on the eJHI
The Electronic Journal of Health Informatics (eJHI) is now an established online journal with considerable support from both readers and contributors. The journal is an initiative that HISA has been closely associated with from its inception. Evelyn Hovenga, the journals chief editor has just submitted the annual report for the journal. National E-Health Strategy HISA Members Discussion
On Wednesday July 30, NEHIPC convened a forum to review their latest draft of the National E-Health Strategy being developed by Deloittes. Michael Legg (HISA President) represented HISA at this event. An output of the forum was the agreement to release the slide pack for comment by key stakeholders.
You will be able to provide feedback on the presentation via a closed email list. This content will be used to develop the response that Michael Legg has been asked to provide.
Contributions that were previously placed on this site will be included in the feedback.
AHHA-HISA Position Paper
HISA has worked with the Australian Healthcare and Hospital Association (AHHA) to develop a position paper on short to medium term projects in Health Information Management following a request from the Australian Minister's Office.
Michael Legg (HISA President) led the roundtable of over 20 industry and academic experts in eHealth. Michael Legg, David More and Richard Dixon-Hughes used the roundtable contributions to develop the position statement that was delivered by Michael and the team to the Minister's Office and senior Government officers in an AHHA briefing session on Monday 21st April 2008.
