In the lead-up to the Beijing 2008 Olympics, SBS will screen Olympia: Myth and Truth, a documentary that investigates the way the original Olympians competed, and questions whether the idealised image of Olympic values are founded in fact or fiction. Utilising technology such as laser, infra-red and slow-motion cameras, scientists undertake a series of biomechanical studies comparing the techniques and performance of ancient Olympians with that of their modern-day counterparts.

In episode two, the Cairns chopper must fly to the small Aboriginal community of Hopevale where a baby girl is severely dehydrated. On the way back to Cairns the crew is diverted to pick up a 13-year-old boy with a suspected fractured pelvis. As they fly to pick up the boy at Mossman Hospital, tropical storm clouds gather and the crew must decide whether to fly on using satellite navigation or abandon the task and leave it to the night crew. Meanwhile, wet conditions on Magnetic Island off Townsville contribute to a terrible car smash. A critically injured 22-year-old is trapped in his ute and is in intense pain.

The statistics are startling. Miscarriage is the most common complication in pregnancy, with about 15 per cent of all pregnancies ending early; half of all women miscarry over the course of their lives and one in eight will miscarry three times or more.

Chopper Rescue is a unique observational documentary series following the work of the helicopter rescue crews of Emergency Management Queensland (EMQ), who serve the people of far north Queensland. The Chopper Rescue crews are on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and operate out of two bases in the far north cities of Townsville and Cairns. Consisting of pilot, air crew officer, rescue crew officer, paramedic and emergency doctor, the crews cover vast distances from the outer edge of the Great Barrier Reef to the remote outback.

AC Milan was formed in 1899 by an Englishman. Following its glory days in the 50s and 60s, the club struggled for years, battling huge debts. When Berlusconi bought the club in 1986, he invested lots of money and energy into revitalising it, giving it a whole new lease of life. The new coach, Sacchi, bought expensive players and employed innovative techniques. With Sacchi at the helm, AC Milan began its assault on the Champions League Cup, winning for three consecutive years.

In May 2002, Real Madrid crowned its centenary celebrations by winning a record ninth European Cup. Founded in 2002, Real Madrid spent its early years playing second fiddle to Barcelona and Athletic Bilbao. They won their first title in 1932, and defended it successfully the following year, but had to wait 21 years to win it again, which negates the notion, spread by some of Real Madrid opponents, that the "meringues" were somehow General Franco's regime team.
