Don Walker Awards Announced

The HIC'08 Gala Dinner was the venue for the announcement of this years Don Walker awards.  Presented for exceptional contribution to improving health outcomes through innovation in health informatics the awards had many outstanding applicants. 

These awards are presented in the three areas of Efficiency, Effectiveness and Access and this years winners are:

Efficiency:   

  • HIREU University of Sydney, Sydney South West Area Health Service, NSW Health and Cerner Pty Ltd for the project titled "Improving Healthcare Delivery Using an Evidence based Approach to the Implementation of Electronic Ordering Systems"

Effectiveness:

  • David Dinh, Michael Dinh and Mathew Chu for the project titled "ACAFE- Emergency Hospital Decision Support"

Access:

  • Ping Yu and Esther Munyisia for the project titled "Change in documentation time associated with the introduction of Electronic Documentation"
