The Person in the Centre
August 31st to September 2nd 2008
Melbourne, Australia
The conference will take a fresh look at the changing role of consumers and providers in healthcare and the systems that support them. This evolution, fuelled by advances in the acquisition, communication and application of information, has brought us to a point where many agree that the next great advance in healthcare will come from the assisted use of existing knowledge and the empowerment of the consumer with this knowledge.
HIC08 will examine this theme from the perspectives of the key players in our health delivery systems.
- Consumers
- Direct Healthcare providers (General practitioners, specialists, nurses, allied healthcare, community care, aged care, supporting clinical services)
- Policy and Infrastructure (Government, health managers, information managers, information technology providers)
- Healthcare researchers and academics
HIC08 is HISA's national conference which brings together a unique combination of healthcare professionals and information specialists to examine the key issues that sit at the interface between healthcare and information technology.
