IHE Australia builds on a strong partnership of industry and health IT users.
IHE Australia is an unincorporated assocation auspiced by HISA as a special interest group, to be formalised under an MOU with other sponsoring agencies.
IHE Australia will be applying to IHE international to be recognised as the local deployment organisation for iHE in Australia and eastern Asia/Pacific region.

Health Informatics Society of Australia
The Health Informatics Society of Australia (HISA) is a member based organisation which aims to improve healthcare through health informatics. We achieves this through
- Providing a national focus for health informatics, its practitioners, industry and users
- Advocating on behalf of our members
- Providing opportunities for learning and professional development in health informatics

HL7 Australia
HL7 Australia is an open, not-for-profit and democratic organisation that supports the HL7 user community by:
- Co-ordinating and championing the development and implementation of Australian and global HL7 standards
- Developing skills and knowledge exchange amongst members and the wider informatics community
- Promoting HL7 as the most effective standard for systems interoperability, messaging and information management in healthcare

MSIA
The MSIA represents the interests of the Australian commercial software industry which develops, supplies and services information management products and services for healthcare practitioners, healthcare service providers and healthcare organizations. The functions of the association are to include but not be confined to:
- provide a collective and representative voice of the Members in discussions and negotiations with government, other associations and representative bodies, individuals and commercial companies.
- provide a mechanism for other organizations and individuals to communicate effectively with the Members.
- provide a means by which intelligence and information can be distributed to the Members.
- provide a forum for effective cooperation by the Members in areas which will be mutually beneficial.
