In a milestone for the CHIA program, the inaugural CHIAs are starting to recertify their credentials. CHIA recertification is required every three years and during this time CHIAs are required to undertake a minimum amount of continuing professional development (CPD) activities. The CHIA Recertification Program assures that certified professionals have undertaken maintenance activities to demonstrate sufficient and ongoing CHIA competence.

There are a number of activities CHIAs can undertake to obtain their CPD points. See the HISA events calendar for details of points allocated to events. Maintaining currency of health informatics knowledge, skills and experience, ensures we  are moving towards achieving the National Digital Health Strategy vision of a workforce confident in using digital health technologies.

The Health Informatics Society of Australia (HISA) has merged with the Australasian College of Health Informatics (ACHI) to form the Australasian Institute of Digital Health on Monday 24 February 2020. This site will no longer be updated and will be preserved for archive. Visit us at the Institute! www.digitalhealth.org.au.
