This year HIC hosted the first ever Hacking Health (HH) hackathon in Australia. Developed in collaboration with the international Hacking Health founders in Canada, the event encouraged multi-disciplinary teams to work on healthcare related problems and come up with creative solutions. Collaboration, sharing and networking between developer teams and experienced business and technology mentors, health IT professionals, industry experts and suppliers, was exciting to watch. The energy and vibrancy within the special HH section of HIC was infectious, epitomised by winners punching the air as they accepted their awards on the final day. The event was an absolute success in bringing this wide range of stakeholders together over three days.

The HIC 2015 Hacking Health winners are:

1st place – “HeroLife” Kids healthy eating app

HH-1-place

2nd place – Translation app for migrants accessing services
