NIA IMIA–NI REPRESENTATIVE 2017-2020

Expressions of interest are now being called for an NIA member to undertake the NIA IMIA-NI (International Medical Informatics Association Nursing Informatics SIG) representative role for 2017 – 2020. As IMIA NI has now commenced four (4) year terms in alignment with IMIA it is important that NIA now aligns with this. Therefore, this term will run until 2020. Following this the role will have a full term of four years and align with IMIA NI terms of office.

The Guidelines, Selection Criteria and Selection Process are on Page 2 and 3 of this document.

NIA is supporting this role by offering to pay for IMIA Congress registration and accommodation to the incumbent representative.

If you would like to gain valuable international experience and have input into international Nursing Informatics developments then apply for the role.

We would encourage all Registered Nurses who meet the criteria to apply.

Key Accountabilities

Sponsorship and Exhibition Sales – Proactively works to reach and exceed budgeted sponsorship and exhibition targets for HISA events.

Account Management – Develop and maintain strategic, creative and high-value relationships with existing and potential clients.

Strategic Planning and Administration – Plans and executes sales strategies; ensures accurate and up to date record keeping and reporting.

Human resources and staff management – managing all aspects of human resources and monitor and co-ordinate staff reporting requirements, ensuring appropriate and high level of communication within the team.

And the practical experience and skills required

5 years demonstrated experience in sponsorship and exhibition sales

Experience working in the not for profit sector and health sectors is desirable

Ability to engage with team members and clients to build strong relationships

Ability to present to clients effectively

Ability to make decisions and solve problems and can think on one’s feet

Able to manage a varied and challenging workload and meet deadlines

Conference and Events Manager

To succeed, you will have experience managing large scale 500+ delegate size conferences. Our team manages over 50 events a year – from conferences to webinars, breakfasts and branch events. We are already in the motions of planning a range of our events so we need you to hit the ground running and enjoy the challenge!

You will be responsible for the end-to-end event management of national conferences while taking ownership of certain areas on the international conferences. There will come a time where we will need your hands-on attitude to assist with smaller events too.

The role is not suitable for those with minimal experience or new graduates. Conferences need to be in your blood, and you should have a few battle scars.

Event and Conference Marketing – Responsible for the development and execution of strong marketing campaigns for all HISA events and conferences.

Production / Project Management – Provide managerial oversight to a small team. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including suppliers to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and scope.

Research – Through a mixture of desktop research and speaking with our community, you will lead the development of our annual events program, ensuring topics and speakers are cutting edge, relevant and always high quality.

Strategic Planning and Reporting – Plans and executes marketing strategies; ensures accurate and up to date record keeping and reporting. Monitors the success of marketing and engagement campaigns and initiatives and adjusts accordingly.

Workforce and Professional Advancement Director

HISA’s Workforce and Professional Advancement (WPA) Division exists to build the capacity of Australian health workforces to confidently and competently use and drive uptake of connected digital services. We aim to equip Australian health workforces for their participation in health’s digital future. We do this through working collaboratively with the sector and harnessing the expertise of committed volunteers and subject matter experts to define digital health competency standards; develop professional individual accreditation programs; provide links between providers and users of training and education; and supporting organisations to build digital health capacity.

Our vision is for all healthcare professionals to have access to resources that will support them in confident and efficient use of digital services, for health sector leaders will have access to best-practice support networks, and digital health workforce and professional advancement will be embedded as “business as usual” throughout the health sector.
