The Bendigo Hospital Project, the largest regional hospital development in Victoria, is set to open in 2017. The hospital is incorporating the latest technology into its design to deliver a world-class digital facility.
The new facility will be equipped with a range of new technologies, including the implementation of the InterSystems TrakCare healthcare information system to support the transition to a paper-lite, fully unified digital care environment by providing a fully unified EMR. TrakCare will streamline clinical processes and improve care quality and safety for patients. It’s robust integration capabilities will allow for the continued use of legacy technology purchases, while future-proofing the health service to meet tomorrow’s IT requirements.
Join Rob McCathie from Bendigo Health to hear about the hospital’s journey to a unified care environment.
Project Manager Electronic Medical Record, Bendigo Health
Following a twelve-year project management and engineering career within the Defence Materiel Organisation on complex projects covering ship building, maintenance systems, training systems, weapons, and counter-rocket, artillery and mortar systems, Rob elected for a tree-change to Bendigo in order to build his environmental dream home and to provide his family with the benefits of a rural lifestyle in regional Victoria. Rob moved into Health in 2012, when he was inspired by the challenge of defining, procuring and managing the immense change that transitioning Bendigo Health to an Electronic Medical Record will bring in parallel with the construction of the new Bendigo Hospital.
