DESCRIPTION:Register \nvia GoToWebinar  \nNursing informatics has a long history of focusing on information management and nurses have a long history of describing their computer use. However\, based on the technical advances and through the ongoing and consistent changes in healthcare today\, we are now challenged to look to the future and help determine what nurses and patients/consumers will need going forward. \nThe speakers on this webinar will review the proceedings of the Post Conference to the 13th International Conference on Nursing Informatics\, held in Geneva\, Switzerland\, in June 2016. \nThe theme of the Post Conference was to forecast informatics competencies for nurses in the future. The proceedings are a result of the collaboration among nursing informatics experts from research\, education and practice settings\, from 18 countries\, and from varying levels of expertise. \nThe recommendations will help forecast and define the informatics competencies for nurses in practice\, and as such\, they will also help outline the requirements for informatics training in nursing programs around the world. Previously\, she was CNO and Deputy National Coordinator for Programs and Policy at the ONC in Washington D.C. and VP-EHR Applications at Aurora Health Care in Wisconsin. \n  \n\nDr William Goosen\nEditor\, Forecasting Informatics Competencies for Nurses in the Future of Connected Health \nDr. William Goossen is currently researcher and consultant in health informatics and director at Results 4 Care B.V. in the Netherlands. He is involved in research and development of electronic patient records\, HL7 v3 messages\, health terminologies\, Detailed Clinical Models and other applications of information and communication technology for health care. Dr. Goossen chairs the NEN standardization workgroup health informatics and serves as head of delegation for the Netherlands in ISO TC 215 and CEN TC 251 health informatcis\, on behalf of NEN. \n  \nPatrick Weber\nEditor\, Forecasting Informatics Competencies for Nurses in the Future of Connected Health \nPatrick Weber RN\, MA is CEO and shareholder of Nice Computing specialised in quality control for medical coding and DRG in Switzerland. Vice President for administration and finance at IMIA-NI International Medical Informatics Association Nursing Informatics.
